Balancing the Benefits
With any Award program, it is a question of determining how you can best benefit from what it offers. Your S7 Priority Awards give you reasonable opportunities and also offer some significant benefits with their redemption options. You can also credit them with financial advantages when traveling with a baby of up to two years of age for only 10% miles cost of the original ticket. Other benefits include:
- You are granted a full refund related to cancellation for any medical emergency
- For a flight change, you will be charged a nominal fee of about $25
Some of the other conditions in effect are:
- A cash ticket must be purchased before you can book award flight and redeem accumulated miles
- Various award tickets can be above 50-percent of the cost for round-trip tickets with stopovers not included.
- Your accumulated Miles expire after 24-months
- Applied fuel surcharges on S7 and some partners flights
- Permitted changes to Award flights only relate to date and time and for award flights longer than one zone
- Refunds are not available for Miles and fuel surcharges related to a cancellation
For S7 Priority members, your best destination could be the Domestic awards in Russia and in respect of flights within the CIS. They offer you preferred benefits starting with a 15,000 miles roundtrip. The S7 Priority program divides Russia into four regions; listing Moscow in “Russia 1.”
Redeeming Your S7 Priority Miles
As you accumulate your Awards Miles you become eligible for some highly desirable redemption options. An example of their quality is seen with:
- A Business Class flight to take you on round-trip anywhere in the USA with the exception of Hawaii, and Canada for only 40,000 miles. This is 10,000 miles less than as offered by any of the premier American airlines.
- If you decide on a redemption miles flight within Europe, the cost is 15,000-miles flying economy and 25,000-miles for Business Class. (Due to the geography of that region by S7 Airlines, you are able to fly a distance between Istanbul and Reykjavik for the same rate)
- A redeemed miles round-trip flight between North America and Europe will cost you 50,000-miles flying economy class. However, there is a preferred option by flying Business Class for only 75,000 miles.
- A further preferred Miles Redemption offer is a Business Class flight between North and South America. The round-trip awards offer a cost of only 90,000 miles.
Your S7 Priority Awards Perspective
As with any Awards program, there are different perspectives that can attract different frequent flyers. A general one associated with the S7 Priority program could be viewed as the Optimum rate, which is capacity oriented. In this connection, it could be preferred to Priority fares, which to all intents and purposes, are about three times the cost!
By selecting the Optimum rate option, have the opportunity of choosing between the best available redemption programs listed within S7 Priority Awards program, This may be counteracted to a certain extent by flights between North America and Africa, South Pacific or India seeming slightly cost-heavy with a 100,000-miles roundtrip.
Upgrades and Priority Advantages
Your accumulated Award Miles can be utilized to upgrade cash tickets from economy to business class, although it is relatively costly. By example; if you take a one-way upgrade from economy to business class the cost of that ticket will be 50-percent of the price in miles compared to purchasing it at the standard rate. Adding to this is the fact of it costing you 100-percent of the price in miles if you buy a ticket at a discounted rate.
When you look objectively at the benefits gained from S7 Priority awards membership they offer you a means of improving your flying experience. When flying their routes they offer you those extra advantages and benefits that can turn an otherwise routine flight into something special. In addition, you have the satisfaction of some excellent future Flight Miles returns.
